Natalie Ng comes from a Talented family – what most people might call superpowers but that is frowned upon at her house.   Her father has a expert sense of smell, and Natalie’s sister Viv has lie detecting ability to name a couple. Natalie, however, feels ashamed of her ability – a gift of communicating with cats – which she largely keeps hidden. However, when an entertainment blogger comes to town to cover a new movie filming in town that is intended as an homage to the classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Natalie hears a cry for help from recorded video of the blogger’s cat that the woman is an impostor and his true person has been kidnapped. With only her two trusted friends Melly and Oscar to help, Natalie sets out to rescue the dyed pink cat and get to the bottom of the mystery. This book proved to be a fast, fun read, and I think added enjoyment comes if you know a lot about  the film the book pays homage to.
