Written by Hugh Brewster, a writer with several other books about the famed sinking ship under his belt spanning a twenty-five year career, spends this particular volume highly focused on the first class passengers of the Titanic. It’s a well-written piece that, while making the experience a fairly casual read for a non-fiction title, makes sure to stress where things are definite known fact and where parts of the book are more “educated guesses” based on the facts at hand. Also worth noting is that only about the middle third – if that – focuses on the time on board the ship; the rest gives the readers the time to get to know these first-class passengers as people before their lives came together on the Titanic as well as gives accounts for every major surviving person’s fate.  This book is recommended for people with an interest in this piece of history, whether casual or deep.
