As part of the seven-day PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, Wild River Review Editor-in-Chief Joy E. Stocke and West Coast Editor Angie Brenner will be in the heart of TriBeCa at Double-Knot Gallery on Saturday, May 5, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm to debut their memoir: Anatolian Days & Nights: A Love Affair with Turkey, Land of Dervishes, Goddesses, and Saints.
Learn about Sufi literature and poetry, whirling dervishes, and prayer rugs, Turkish cuisine and wine, and the music of the Ney as you are transported to Central Turkey and the world of Sufi mystic, Jelaluddin Rumi.
With stories that break through cultural stereotypes, Anatolian Days & Nights explores the rich culture and fascinating history of Turkey. Joy Stocke is on the board of the Princeton Middle East Society and a member of the Turkish Women’s Network. Angie Brenner owned her own travel bookstore, World Journeys, and has lectured widely on all aspects of travel.

More than 100 writers from 25 nations will convene for the eighth annual PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature to celebrate the power of the written word and challenge audiences to engage with literature in creative and unexpected ways. Taking place in New York City from April 30-May 6, the Festival will mark PEN American Center’s 90th anniversary year of defending freedom of expression, promoting literature, and fostering international literary fellowship.
