Revisit Bryan Lee O’Malley’s hit comic – originally released in black and white – about a boy with a seemingly loser life who finds himself destined for an unusual one in this fully colorized version of the first volume.  As with many adaptations, subplots and characters were cut or changed from comic to the cult film SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD starring Michael Cera. Reading the original O’Malley comic shows additional depth and humor that makes these characters more memorable. As far as doing a color version of the comic, comparing  the black and white comics which were read just before seeing the movie and now looking at the color comic, it feels like a lot of the effects of mystery and darkness and shadow are lost. While this color version is a great way to get people to access the full story who might miss out due to not wanting to pick up a black and white comic or those who otherwise can’t get the first release, the full SCOTT PILGRIM comic experience seems to be optimized for black and white.
